FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ALL THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT PARASAILING
WITH US AT PIRATE PARASAILING

  • Yes, parasailing is not a dangerous or extreme activity unlike what people think or have been told. It's as relaxing as sitting in a garden swing and very peaceful.

However, if done incorrectly by unlicenced companies, unqualified individuals or with poorly maintained equipment it can result in serious harm to  anyone participating.

Pirate Parasailing is the only parasailing operator on the entire Costa del Sol that is fully licenced by the European Professional Parasailing Association (EPPA), the leading parasailing safety training school across Europe. All crew undergo special training and examination, which is revised each year, to ensure that customer safety is top priority.

For more information about the EPPA and it's mission, visit their website

  • Our prices are available to see on each locations designated page.

Please remember that our prices are always subject to change based on current availability and could differ from when you first look to the next time.

  • Our boats are rigged with a custom made 400m / 1300ft capacity hydraulic winch, meaning you can reach heights of up to 200m / 650ft

Parasailing is a highly regulated industry governed by the FAA, in some locations there are restricted zones to the flying heights which we carefully monitor and cannot exceed.

Our crew will adjust the flight paths and heights accordingly when inside one of the locations so please be aware that we cannot fullfill requests to exceed the ceiling inside any restricted zone.

  • Each parasailing experience takes between 12 - 15 minutes from start to finish. This is timed from taking off the boat to landing back onboard.

We typically do 5 flights maximum per trip, making the trip last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes in total

  • Group flights are possible but are strictly limited by the following conditions:

    • Maximum combined weight of everyone flying together

    • Current wind speeds

    • Current sea conditions

For optimum flying, we keep a limitation of 200kg as standard, this can be exceeded providing the conditions are fare on the day. The crew will always try their best to accommodate your preferences but ultimately safety comes first.

  • Refunds will only be given for the following reasons:

    • If the activity is cancelled by Pirate Parasailing and you are unable to reschedule to another time.

    • If you cancel your booking up to 24hours before your activity.

As this is an activity with limited spaces available, refunds will not be given for any of the following reasons:

    • You or another decides not to do it at the last minute.

    • You arrive late for your activity.

    • You do not arrive at all for your booking for any valid reason. (in case of an emergency that required you or someone to go to the hospital, bringing a hospital note with you to prove this can validate you for a refund)

  • It is not required for any individual to know how to swim. You will be given a life jacket as a safety precaution and you will start and land on the boat, the only time you would touch the water is near the end of the flight when the captain optionally dips your feet for abit of fun.

If for any reason there was a mechanical malfunction, you would instead simply land gently into the water where the team will come and get you while you float and wait for them.

Your crew will explain all safety procedures on the day via a breifing of how things work and what to expect in any situation.

  • Spectators are welcome to come along and watch, we charge 10€ per person for the boat ride.

However, priority goes to those wanting to do the activity first, which is why we do not reserve spectator spaces in advance and it will only come down to available space at the time of the activity.

The only exception to this rule is if their are minors between the ages of 12-15 that are going to fly together without an adult, then a responsible individual such as a parent or guardian will need to be onboard the boat during the activity. To ensure this is possible, bookings should be made in advance and customers must notify us beforehand to ensure there is a seat available first.

  • Yes, now and then a limited promotion will become available that can be used in any of our locations, such as digital coupons or exclusive discounts for returning customers.

Keep your eyes open to take advantage of them and be sure to book in advance as they do expire fast!

We also offer group prices for parties larger than 10, please contact us for information

  • Parents will only need to fill out a consent form for children aged 16 - 17 years to allow them to do the activity without them.

This can be done at our desk but we also have an online form that can be completed and signed in advance to save time.

  • We recommend to wear items that dry quickly such as light shorts and t-shirts or swimwear. Denim, long skirts / dresses and heavy materials are generally not recommended.

You can wear your glasses unless they are prone to falling off, please use your best judgement, any belongings you take onboard is solely your responsibility.

A t-shirt must be worn under the life jacket for sanitary reasons!

We also recommend to bring water as it can be hot in summer and we appreciate if you do bring extra cash for purchasing the photos & videos or tipping the staff.
